The Ride

This cold white hand of change
Grips my shoulder
Chilling bone
My sick stomach cannot eat
As a life is thrown
Overboard
And I light-out of this small town
On my motorbike
Alone -
In my sights
Another mountain
To be braved and climbed.
I leave behind
My five-year time;
The voices gone;
And carry
All the love I've ever known.
