Flame I

It creates its own
Environment, it settles in
In its flickering
Until it spills itself
To fill the glass
In frozen waste
Like dripping ice solidified
And smokes the edges
Of the urn
To show that it has
Breathed there.

This little candle
With its glowing tip
Its bobbing flame
Makes itself at home
A figure waving
In that small glass
This small room.

O live companion.
