Flame II

Flames behave differently
According to what they are fed
According to
Conditions of burning
According to good air or bad
Atmosphere

And our flames are
No less than this:
Fanned or snuffed
By time and winds
Of change blowing us -

Threaten to
Crush that bright wick
That feeds it.

The will is
The struck match
That ensures
A flame endures its burn
Does not exceed
Its stretch
Does not
Extinguish in
Life's hard fingers
Pinching.
