Choices II

Three things today
from those who are far
away in geography and time.
A note from the High Lands:
weather fine, resting, no car.
A note from over the sea:
busy, job hunting, interviews.
A call from England: my
brother. Thanks me for the
money: little gift of mine
for this person of blood,
upbringing, young memories.
Here, I cross town: 10 minutes
to sit in Sallies with him,
my man, the heart of my
Alma Mater, near
the stones of our vows.
We are what we choose.
The rest doesn't matter.
