Waiting I

These days are filled
With waiting time: for
Pain to end, for knocks
To come on doors, for
Telephone ringings, for
The future to upbraid me
To a chastened spirit -
I wait to find myself
Meet myself in the
Dark - an unknown place
Exists to be discovered.
I wait to be a part
Of life, rather than this
Dying. I need to find what
Is real and true -
What lives in the light
Beyond you.
