Uluru

Uluru rises it
rises red from the
dust and stands
defiant at us
a pebble left by the
gods to navigate a
continent and
safely land - you can
see it from the sky, the
jewel at the
heart of the desert
mica-studded
a far cry from
anywhere to do
with us, antpeople
scurrying by
laden with cares the rock
eschews and decries - its
rutted surface
stares at the skies
waiting for the hand
that placed it there
to pluck it back, save it
from our pedantry
let it be goliath
to its own sleeping mind.
