The Star III

we all follow the star
it rises still in
our hearts, and sets
in darkness to
rise in light -

it is before our eyes
above the hills as
we climb, above
the road as we walk

just out of reach it
beckons, its pure light
beams upon us, blind
or not, we feel it
against our skin
and by its bright
touch we are

cleansed, we are
judged, we are
accepted, we are
loved

it beams on all our
beginnings, shines against
shut doors - we

cannot reach it, too far, too high
it can only show us the way
it is us who
have to try, give ground, grow
wise in the day, following

light we can't see
