Exit

The bits flew everywhere they said
the blood, the bones, spewing into air,
brain bouncing off hard-shoulders. I heard
her spirit cried to the wind
as it joined the slipstream and was snatched
leaving her feet
stuck to a street dazed and wondering
what to do. Only her head was left they said
like being trapped in a box of white mist -
all those white edges and no hands to feel -
and nothing to touch like being blind and wondering
which was the way out. I heard she knew all the time
there were many ways to exit - all she had to do
was pick one.
