Envy Nothing

The land of the beautiful people
Is angled and precise, all
Blonde sharp hair, large
Lips and eyes, the cleavage revealing
Nicely-browned skin, the half-open
Mouth inviting us all, the rest of us
To dream of gems and cars, of
Manicured nails, of haute couture
And Beverly Hills. The land of the
Beautiful people is cheap and it's
Thrills - disdain it and hold tight
Your own life's gifts, the time you are in
Your own skills: envy nothing shallow
And nothing ill.
