Charting the Way

Back to the drawing board - I must
out my pens and rulers, charts
and plans, dust-off my compass
and come about on a new heading:

there is work to be done somewhere
else with new voices and
faces, new challenges - I have
new waters to navigate, new

depths to plumb and even
new stars to steer by: I am
checking my rigging, I am
fixing the canvas, my

wheelhouse still works and the
wheel well-oiled - I must
check my provisions, my buoyancy,
check the hold my cargo

tied well-down; caulked and
filled and sprayed, my hull
is sound. I will leave with
the new tide in the morning.
