The Rain will Come

The sun is unrelenting:
unrelenting, scorching heat.
You want me? He asks. Then
there you are. It is too much
to bear, too strong, like
the weight of a man. I don't
bear them anymore. Soon
I will go in and decide
what to do with the
unrelenting day. Savagery.
Don't worry - it will be
gone soon
and the rain will come -
mad woman sitting
out in the noonday sun.
