Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

packing groans and
endless checking:  surfaces,
floors

drive through familiar hills
a last look at
royal blue lochans

then it was a sea wind,
blue sky, puffy white cloud
and spray - the islands

receding into purple, blue
and grey as we watched the
sculpted, jagged hills of Skye

get slowly near:  then the
car, a coastal route, a
souterrain, then home
