Back to Nature

when the roads were empty
and the skies were clean
there was room to breathe
there was no
white noise
no metal bits floating there
large junkyard in the sky
and the hedgerows
with their birds and roses
were riotous
and vibrant -
not dry emaciated
rotting and overcut

when the roads were empty
you could hear the trees creak
in the wind the birds
singing the wheat
sighing

when the skies were clean
there was no-one looking down
or listening in -
we were truer to our nature then
we had private lives
