prep

gearing-up to leave:
all tasks in order
things to remember I consider
the journey ahead, the
circular road, with
many things in-between:
people, places, faces:
a happy ring

cleaning the car, I ferried
bags and stuff to the boot
as I sorted, remembered,
and packed what I need

quiet here; sirens in
London as some idiot
drives a car into a
barrier for no good
reason -

our strange time
of competition and the inhumane
our loveless season
