beggared

i wear love like a strange
garment that does not fit -
it was not made for me -
crucified to your wood my
arms stretch for lack of
thought, wise ways, you
have me in a daze, delirious,
unsaved i cry for happiness,
my fear of your escape -
tie me up, tie me down,
but do not set me free -
i am in your lee, your
shadow is my love's mystery -
behind your eyes and in all ways
i wish to be, drink me, you cannot
do without my food on your road -
let me be your guide, your companion,
the choice we make to bridge
life's doubts and its waste - do not
cast me off to a colder place and
grant me liberty - i am beggared
by my love, deny me, i will die
