Underworld

Tartarus reverberated
when I arrived, the
gates clanged shut
and darkness solidified

I wandered in sundered
passageways far far
from the light and
breathed the gloom and

almost died, but they
found me lost in a
corridor and
bore me upwards

to the light - proximity
endured the pain of
blinding sight and
body broken irretrievably

when I saw the sun
I cried.
