The rise of silence

silence and the turning
of the page - I didn't
move much today my
muscles were complaining
and I was hirpling
like an old woman

I can't remember any time
in my life
where I sat on my
bed and read a book
for most of the day
in quiet
alone

it was an odd feeling:
stasis, rest, no demands,
not doing - there are
a few things that are new
this year

down the mountain to the
plains - grazing deer
