The World In You

the moments with you
your strong heartbeat in my ear your
smooth skin with the veins pulsing
your calm hand on my hair your
lips on my forehead the
warmth of your body and the
circle that takes us and
floats us from the room, taking
nothing out and nothing in
except the caress of arms the
pearls beyond price or worth the
slow seconds and the stir of
noise that
does not reach our ears for
the touch is all and the
breath breathing slow and our
bodies unmoving your
arms holding us together
as the earth spins in silence
and the fragile ball of our
love holds
all there is
