The Test

always home yet never in,
we move, strive, seek for what's
gone

what we have always known
and no hand is
there to hold but our own

when the night is cold
and the colour dark
can you pass the mark, move on?

can you cut your own arm?
see the signs tattooed
in your brain

yet feel no needle
pain?
can you pass the test?
