The Stain

My indelible stain
is an irritable old wound
soaking stubborn still
scratching spreading
despite my rubbing
deepens to black
and blue flashes of you,

rounded, my love,
lustrous. Your
freckled face and
raised eyebrows -
reflections of red -
and I stretch my mind
thought expanding to you,
pull you in to this
vacuum - I
taste you on my tongue -

taste of presence gone
lemon-bitter, soft face
kindly heart

such waste

silence

such waste

lack of knowledge takes
time to clear to blue - I
know now too late
touched by Fate I am

pointed into another wind.
I made another mistake.
You.
