The Nun

I have walked inside the circle
and I stand here looking out
in the silence I hear noise
in the light I see the dark
a privileged place
that gives me gifts that I can use
to give in turn
to live and learn
just be, with quiet hands
folded in my gown the stillness borne
this is the heart, the world's room
the sum of all I am:
I breathe in order
to become.
