The Lamp

I have been lit, wherefore,
Then, should I be put
Under the bed so that
No-one may see my light?

In no wise. I shall
Shine and burn and flame so
Brightly that the angels
Will see me from

Far off and think a new
Star has been placed
In the firmament by
God's holy hand. And that

Is indeed what will
Be, for I am
Here to bear fruit and to
Pass the sweetnesses I know

And the seeds that I am given
On to others who may
Use them if they can, I am
Channel to the world of

God's love working -
I have
Lost my life for him, shine
Brighter for the turn.
