The House of the Spirit

The house of the spirit
Is no mere pillared
Portico, marbled and
Replete with the
Ingenuity of men's hands -
The house of the spirit
Stands on its own
Two feet, profaned, weak,
Ignoring its inner
Heat, the flame of life
Hallowed there. The
House of the spirit is
Us and the spirit
Lives in our daily
Lives of prayer.
