The Face of Mary

Universal mother you
Are all love your
Wide arms and Mona
Lisa smile circumferential
In their acceptance of all
Casual and thoughtless deeds,
Your love is unconditional,
Needs us not to
Abase ourselves with tears,
Motherhood is a giving of
Self to another being
And in that core all good
Thrives and flows out
From your blood gifts of
Pain all heart and healing,
Arms and smile, your
Inclined head is graceful as you
Watch us bow and kneel in
Countless shrines and niches to
One manifestation of all
Our mothers in a single
Sweet and smiling face.
