The Changing I

I watched him I watched him go
my brother with a woman I didn't know
had to smile pretend
didn't matter I could transcend
the changing moment and tomorrow
when I go in his absence I will borrow
a smile from my mother in lieu of his
for this is his renewal his chrysalis
he edges from to stretch his wings and taste
the air and I his sister watch his race
to manhood wish him clean spiral
updraught for that glide
