The Birth - II

but they pass and pass
laden
stately overland and out to sea

their blue-grey bellies
stuffed with all the water of the world

beaded strung
and counted on God's Abacus

cloud-wombed representatives of pain
banished back to drown
the sorrows of the world
in healing rain
