Pendant

My world, pendant,
On my bones tonight
Hangs heavy.
The black straps cut
Into back, shoulders,
Neck,
Muscles ache and tendons
Strain, a heavy heavy
Globe of pain.
I clench my teeth, do not
Release,
I hold, steady with sweat
I will bear this weight, will not
Let go.
