In the dark II

In the dark the dark
wells open and access
hurts the heart

blank-eyed in the dark
thoughts multiply
of all things bad
that might be

in the dark, perspective
is taken away
and there is no north
south west or east

the black is everywhere
foiling the eyes
there is no peace
and we wait for the dawn

for freshness, for the
start of a new day
in the light things have
a different shape

we feel less forlorn
and our hands help
our legs walk
our feet know the way
