In Service

What is this singularity, this
polar stance of
arrow and of rod
standing before God questioning
and breathing - what is
served by a single
breath, a heartbeat
carried by sore feet, an
endeavour lived and
handed, lined, skinned
and alive - what is -
the meaning of a life
lived in silence
with two eyes
no kith no kin
no alibis - just bare
skin cold and
tired before the dawn
a death alive.
