Home I

Be brave, be brave,
Succour your heart's losses
Don't cave-in now
When an end is in sight.

Lighten it, lighten it,
The black sack, the
Burden on your back
All memoried and full.

You can't take it
With you when you go
And your life unravels
Its bright threads, unspools.

Home is gone - that granite
Perfection in winter and
Summer; the sweet smile
That made it green.

Leave it, oh leave it be
To rest and its limits.
Out of your power to hold
Back the flow of destiny.
