Holier Than Thou

There is a space more holy
Than this, less holy
Than this place wherein I
Stand, I could
Step two paces through
That door and be on
Holier ground, here,
Open to the sky I am
Alarmed and not
Anointed. The Levite
Is inside as he
Should not be. And
Here, outside, here
Is me, a lesser
Holy space for
God to be.
