A Species of One

I am a species
all on my own - unknown
unclassifed, unwritten
conventions surround me I have
habits that are
true to my kind - a
rare breed unlike
all else who live and eat
here on this fragile
planet - I exist
on the edge of things, drinking
and sustaining the
invisible values
dying in the majority
hearts - I am
the sum of my parts, a species
of one, a special
person.
