A New House

a bottle of wine
a bunch of flowers: lilies,
roses, the smell of fresh
paint peach on the wails,
clean wood, laid
carpets - the lights
on, curtains ajar,
fire lit, the door opens:
a warm handclasp: a good
heart - welcome  and
hearthrug - a new house
a new space for living,
breathing, sharp start
grazing skin, bedding-
in, rooting
in new  weather - cold
days, cold arms, the
smell of fresh paint
peach on the walls: the
door closes
